Prominent equestrian identity David Quick has accepted a sponsorship from Equi-Vital, Australia’s only all natural feed supplement.

David is a popular showjumping coach around Australia, principal of Isle of Wight Warmbloods at Murchison, Vic, and President of the Australian Holsteiner Association.

In accepting the sponsorship David said “I have never accepted a sponsorship until now, as I have to believe in the product and it has to fit in with my natural health philosophy and practice.”

“The Equi-Vital fits the bill perfectly not only because of its raw feed ingredients, but because it has been researched and developed by equine herbalists Victoria Ferguson and Denise Farrugia, who have great practical and technical knowledge of horses and herbs.”

“I have known Victoria since we were both competing at Grand Prix Dressage, myself with SnowviewRomboli, and Victoria with Gamekeeper, back in the late 80’s. Since then I have often called upon her to provide herbal remedies for my horses and clients’ horses in many areas of equine health.”

David is a highly successful breeder of performance horses for the Olympic disciplines and he has used his success as a high level dressage and showjumping rider to select and produce these elite horses.

David has used organic principles on his property for the past 40 years.

He was influenced in his early years by his father who was a forestry conservationistand his mentor Enid Carberry who grew herbs, utilised “weeds”, practised companion planting and planted leys of herbs in  paddocks for herbage fodder.

From the age of 12, David noticed how his ponies would eat weeds when tethered on the nature strip and this interest has remained with him.  As he truly says “When does a weed become a herb?  When we find a use for it”.

Apart from David’s considerable knowledge of soil, herbage, pastures and pasture plants, he is a horseman in the true sense of the word.  Both his father and his uncle were successful Thoroughbred trainers and David worked with them both from a young age, acquiring a wealth of knowledge.
